The Classroom

Class Size: We are committed to maintaining a low teacher/child ratio to give your child individual attention. Our current teacher/child ratios are as follows:

One year olds 2:8

Two year olds 2:12

Three year olds 2:15

Four year olds 2:15

Five year olds 2:15

Discipline: We are committed to using positive guidance to prevent inappropriate behavior. The staff will have a wide range of activities that are appropriate to your child’s age and ability level. The teachers will use techniques such as redirection, modeling appropriate behavior,

positive reinforcement, praise and encouragement to prevent inappropriate behavior. Time out will be used only when a child persists in behavior, which is destructive, dangerous or aggressive. A child may be placed in time out no longer than one minute for every year of his or her age.

Birthdays: Your child’s birthday is very special and should be celebrated everywhere! We invite parents to bring a special snack to school. Please check with the teacher before making plans.

Child Safety Awareness: Tennessee state law requires all licensed agency’s personnel to be instructed in child safety including the detection, intervention and prevention of child abuse. It also requires that children have a prevention program presented to them annually. Parents will be informed and given an opportunity to review the curriculum prior to it being presented to your child.
